Family Literacy Day 2015

We hosted another successful Family Literacy Day! We hosted a Scholastic Book Fair and invited the community librarian, Dawn Cardinal, who organized reading activities. Thanks, Dawn! The event was well attended by parents and community members. They helped children write stories through a story description and evaluation process (Does the story have a title? Does it describe what the person or thing looks like? Does the story describe how I feel about the person or thing? Does the story utilize nouns to name a person, place or thing?) Grade 6 students also read to children involved with the Brighter Futures Society. Thank you to all parents, students, community members and staff who participated.
